Malin Svensson (CHAIR)
Malin is the CEO & Founder of Nordic Body Inc. - a walking and fitness club committed to inspiring the 50+ crowd to live a fun, healthy, and fulfilling life. The Hollywood Reporter named her the Celebrity Trainer to the 50+ crowd including Jane Fonda, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Maria Shriver. Malin has been featured as a walking and fitness expert in several media outlets like CBS Los Angeles, LA Times, The NY Times, The Wall Street Journal, Fitness magazine and The Hollywood Reporter. She brought Nordic Walking to North America in 2002 and is one of the leading authorities in Nordic Walking worldwide. Her passion for making a difference in people’s wellbeing is further expressed by her non-profit Adopt-A-Walk. The first 1-mile walking loop opened in Santa Monica on June 29, 2019.
Tim Fitzgerald (TREASURER)
Tim Fitzgerald, a proud Montauk, NY native, works at Kopernik Global, in distribution, business development, and client service. With a career on Wall Street since 1997 and professional roots dating to 1991, Tim brings extensive expertise to his role. Before joining Kopernik in 2013, he excelled at prestigious Investment firms like Imperial Capital, Jefferies, and Stephens, Inc. Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts in organizational behavior from Alfred University and a Master of Arts in business communication from Emerson College. Outside finance, Tim cherishes his family - being the father to two girls and he enjoys swimming, paddle tennis, and basketball, and travel.
Carol Golliher (SECRETARY)
Carol Golliher is a retired two-year college English professor who has lived in Santa Monica for 9 years. She is a voracious reader who has never liked running. But she has definitely committed to walking. She walks to appointments as often as possible and to the bank, to the library, and to friends’ places. She walks on trips through Hawaii, Paris, London, Edinburgh, and home state places in Michigan. She has been walking through Santa Monica on her own, with the Y, with friends, and now with AAW.Â
Carmen Parker
Carmen Parker has lived and worked for the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. She has also lived and worked for UNICEF in Paris, France. As a former tour guide she traveled with groups to Japan and Mexico. She loves to walk and travel. When Malin started Adopt-A-Walk (AAW), Carmen became the first AAW Leader. Since 2019, she has volunteered to guide people along the Wilmont Walk Loop in Santa Monica every Saturday morning.
Marlene McGuirt
Marlene McGuirt has been the Director of Development at WeSPARK Cancer Support Center since 2014. with  She has over twenty years of experience as a non-profit development professional. Previously, she served as the Development Director for the Alliance for Children’s Rights, as well as serving as a consultant for the organization’s Tennis for Tots tournament. Before moving to Los Angeles, Marlene served as a Director of Development or Consultant for various nonprofit organizations.
Her previous experience also includes working with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Hazelden Foundation, and Chicago Together Against AIDS. Marlene earned a BS in Marketing from the University of Illinois and attended a Master’s Program in Philanthropy and Development at St. Mary’s University.
Marlene believes that her self-care and exercise activities keeps her mental and physical health in shape to live to life to its fullest. She enjoys living in Studio City, but will always be a Chicago girl at heart.Â
Brad Stauffer
Brad Stauffer has been a fan and follower of Malin Svensson for over seven years. He attended her inaugural Walking & Fitness Retreat and several Holistic Fitness Retreats. Brad is currently a Region Advisor for Toastmasters International, and a Past District 1 Toastmasters Director, responsible for over 3,000 members in Greater LA. He has been a Toastmaster for over 20 years. Brad is also an ICF-Certified Professional Coach. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Oral Roberts University. Now retired, Brad was a marketing and publishing executive for over 35 years. He lives in Palm Springs, California, with his partner of 31 years, where he includes fitness activities during "Gramp Camp" which they host every August for their grandchildren.
Nicole B. Mason, Esq.
Nicole B. Mason is a lawyer, best-selling author and corporate workshop designer and facilitator, with over 25 years experience helping tech companies grow and expand. In addition to serving as the Chief Legal Officer for two different software companies (during her law career), Nicole previously served as a government relations director forming private-public partnerships between telecommunication companies and municipalities.
Nicole is also a certified yoga and qigong instructor as well as a ski instructor at Northstar in Lake Tahoe California. Nicole sits on the advisory board for UC Irvine, holds a variety of professional certifications and founded Omnivantage Business Professionals Inc. (consulting, coaching and creating experiences that enhance personal and professional performance and collaboration).
Nicole applies her passion for wellness to all that she does, and loves helping people to do well by being well.
